My name is Dan Reed and I am a student at Boyce College, the undergraduate arm of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. I am a double major in Biblical & Theological Studies and Youth Ministry, with a set graduation date of May 2013.
I was raised in a Christian home and came to know Christ as my personal Lord & Savior at the age of seven. Both my parents and my youth pastor were crucial in my disciple-making process and in 2008, at the age 19, I surrendered to God’s call on my life to be a pastor to youth & families.
I am passionate about reaching all people with the gospel of Jesus Christ, but I do have a particular burden for children, teenagers, and families at large. This particular interest in ministering to youth and families largely stems from the influence my own youth pastor had on me as well as a part-time job I had a few years back working for an after-school program. Let’s face it: the structure and overall health of the family in the U.S. is in terrible shape. From divorce to homosexuality, the family as God intended it is being destroyed and children are suffering because of it. My desire is for families to be unified and for children to be raised to love Christ and equipped to carry out His work.
